Welcome to VRT Calculator Ireland (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.vrtcalculator.top (the “Site”), including all tools, calculators, content, and services provided on or through the Site.

By accessing or using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Site. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and VRT Calculator Ireland. 1. Service Description

The Site provides a free online Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) estimation tool that allows users to calculate an approximate VRT liability based on information they voluntarily input, including vehicle value, CO2 emissions, fuel type, age, and origin. The Site also offers informational content, blog articles, guides, and related tools to assist users in understanding the Irish VRT system.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • The VRT calculator produces estimates only. These estimates are not guaranteed to match the final VRT liability determined by the Irish Revenue Commissioners.
  • We do not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. The Site is an informational tool, not a substitute for professional consultation.
  • We make no representation that the Site is appropriate or available for use in locations other than Ireland. Users who access the Site from outside Ireland do so at their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
  • The Site is provided free of charge. We do not charge any fees for the use of the VRT calculator or any informational content.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

4. VRT Calculator — Specific Terms

The VRT calculator is provided as an informational estimation tool. By using the calculator, you specifically acknowledge and agree that:

  • Estimates Only: The output of the calculator is an estimate based on the data you provide and the publicly available VRT rates and formulas published by the Revenue Commissioners. Actual VRT liability may differ materially due to factors including but not limited to Revenue's OMSP determination, vehicle condition adjustments, applicable reliefs or exemptions, and mid-year rate changes.
  • No Reliance: You must not rely solely on the calculator output when making vehicle purchasing or import decisions. You should always obtain an official VRT assessment from Revenue before committing to any financial obligation.
  • User Input Responsibility: The accuracy of the calculator output depends entirely on the accuracy of the data you input. We are not responsible for inaccurate results arising from incorrect or incomplete user inputs.
  • Rate Changes: VRT rates, CO2 emissions bands, NOx levy thresholds, and relief limits may change at any time, typically following the annual Finance Act. While we strive to update the calculator promptly, we do not guarantee that the calculator reflects the most current rates at all times.
  • No Guarantee of Accuracy: We expressly disclaim any guarantee that the calculator's output will match the final VRT amount determined by Revenue. Variations may arise due to differences in OMSP assessment, currency fluctuations, and individual vehicle circumstances.

5. User-Generated Content and Communications

The Site may offer features that allow users to submit content, including but not limited to contact form messages, blog comments (if enabled), or other communications (“User Content”). By submitting User Content to the Site, you grant VRT Calculator Ireland a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and fully sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such User Content in any media, whether now known or hereafter invented.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or otherwise control all rights to the User Content you submit.
  • The User Content is accurate, not misleading, and does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • The User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights of any third party.
  • The User Content does not contain any defamatory, libellous, obscene, abusive, hateful, or threatening material.

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, review, edit, or remove any User Content at any time and for any reason without prior notice. We are not responsible for and assume no liability for any User Content submitted by users.

6. Third-Party Links, Advertising, and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, applications, and services that are not owned or controlled by VRT Calculator Ireland. These include but are not limited to links to Revenue.ie, the Irish Statute Book, Gov.ie, Citizens Information, Motorcheck.ie, and other resources referenced in our content.

  • Warranties that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

  • Any damages arising from reliance on calculator outputs, including but not limited to incorrect VRT estimates, overpayment or underpayment of VRT, import delays, or additional costs incurred.

These limitations apply regardless of the theory of liability (whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed EUR 100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VRT Calculator Ireland, its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland for the resolution of any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms. Nothing in this section shall prevent us from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property rights or confidential information.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, nothing in this section shall deprive you of the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
